African Dreams -- Ellipsis Arts

Soft, earthy vocals, light acoustic instrumentation and very subtle rhythms color this set of comforting night songs from the Mother Continent. AFRICAN DREAMS, from the "Ellipsis Arts Lullaby Collection," features a variety of performers hailing from all corners of Africa, including Ethiopia, South Africa, Madagascar, the Congo and Cabo Verde. The music is predominately centered on vocals, with only minor guitar strumming, thumb piano or the occasional drum beat in the backdrop. Each of the selections are soft and gentle, capturing the tenderness a parent feels for their child. Artists include: S.E. Rogie, Kumalo Family Singers and Coco Mbassi.
