AFRICAN DREAMS, from the "Ellipsis Arts Lullaby Collection," features a variety of performers hailing from all corners of Africa, including Ethiopia, South Africa, Madagascar, the Congo and Cabo Verde. The music is predominately centered on vocals, with only minor guitar strumming, thumb piano or the occasional drum beat in the backdrop. Each of the selections are soft and gentle, capturing the tenderness a parent feels for their child. Artists include: S.E. Rogie, Kumalo Family Singers and Coco Mbassi.

The music is slightly breezy, with a laid-back sort of vibe that is common with music of the island regions. What better way to drift off to sleep than by being serenaded as ocean waves crash in the background. Artists include Mariana Martin (Brazil), Juan-Carlos Formell (Cuba), The Moonlighters (Hawaii), Othello Molineaux (Trinidad) and many more artists.

Gomez is accompanied by Marilyn Rife on percussion and her sister, Madalyn Blanchett on flutes. Moods evolve from upbeat to reflective using multiple flutes, ceremonial percussion instruments, Yaqui-style harp and synthesizer. Gomez presents a sonic portrait of a variety of ceremonies and dances from a variety of tribes.
